Druidic College of Avalon Arising : What you need to bring to attend
To qualify to attend the Druidic College of Avalon Arising one must send a request to join the Meetup www.meetup.com/avalonarising
Ones joining the meetup may or may not want to attend the Mystery School for the 9 month on-site Druidic College- if you simply want to attend the ceremony and open classes that is fine as well!

As we are truly seeking good energy match, those of serious mind and the highest of intent-I will read these,scan the energy and then either allow or reject the request to join.
IF you seek to join the Mystery School Fulltime- One must attend a minimum of 3 public events through the Meetup and then may request admission in the upcoming season of Mystery School Classes starting just before the Spring Equinox 2013 .
The school will be intitiated and dedicated in ceremony at Samhain 2012.
YOU MAY BRING A CELL PHONE OR LAPTOP - BUT MAY NOT USE ONSITE EXCEPT IN CASE OF EMERGENCY- THESE CAN OF COURSE BE USED OFF PROPERTY AS WE ARE PROVIDING A ELECTOMAGNETIC FREE ZONE AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE!
To be admitted to the Druidic Colege of Avalon Arising one will be given an admission interview, have an astrological reading and Akashic Records Reading. The admission process will have a charge based upon the practitioners fee for this- TBD.
We will look at your health, your ability to interact respectfully with other people, have an intensive discussion based upon your skill sets, we will run a criminal background check so as to make sure no sex offenders or violent offenders are admitted.
To attend the Druidic College of Avalon Arising -ones chosen after the interview would have to be prepared to prepay the $2500.00 base fee. This is NON REFUNDABLE and is for you 9 month stay onsite.
We are working very hard to keep this charge low and reasonable!
You will need to provide a release as far as any injuries while attending the college- there are dangers you know-you will be working with fiire, swimming, building things,chopping wood, druidic staff fighting and perhaps bow hunting and such!
You must have a major medical or accident coverage insurance! We will discuss this more later...
In order to attend the upcoming mystery school classes at the Druidic College of Avalon Arising we are sending out this list of items you will need to bring to attend the School. Community kitchen and homesteading needs are part of the tuition- gathering the items is part of your training as well-to learn to be PART of something and contribute to the greater good!
This will be added to and amended over time as needs change .
Imagine we are setting up a fully functioning village for the seasons you are here... part of our school is to teach ones the OLDE ways of Village life and living OFF GRID!
Group needs- group / Village needs always come 1st in this system- a druidic practioner is a servant for their community!
Weekdays we will have breakfast as a group,you will be packing a lunch from the lunch items our Kitchen Magicians will set out at Breakfast tinme- we will spend much of the day in the forrest-rain or shine .. and occasionally we will have group evening meals together- most always with a pot of energy infused vegetable soup going , homemade bread and desserts , herb tea available!
For the group kitchen you would bring and leave at the group kitchen- please make sure you are checked in and signed off for these supplies
25 lbs organic rice(brown,white or wild)
25 lbs dried organic beans (may be a mix of several types minimum of 5 lbs each type)
1 lbs yeast
25 lbs organic whole wheat flour
10 lbs steel cut organic oatmeal
5 lbs organic brown sugar
2 lbs REAL salt-mined from the Earth
2 gallons organic olive oil
2 gallons wine or meade
Your choice- 10 additional pounds of food donations -such as dried fruits, chocolate, organic cheeses and dried meats
These items provide a base- We will be growing an extensive garden ,have chickens and milking goats and doing wild harvesting ,hunting and fishing of many foods....
You will be asked to provide 1 load of firewood for the group kitchen and evening fires - this is approx $60.00
You will be asked to provide 10 bales of hay - for the animals and for the garden. Approx 50.00 for this....
Part of your morning chores will be working in the garden and connecting to the plants -you will be tending to the homestead farm animals as well!
Each of the 12 students will have an off grid camp site-this is a bare site w no amenities .
If you don't bring it you will do without- part of this training is resilience- being self sufficient and self reliant!
You will be building you a natural hut and building items for your homesite from the forrest but this will take several weeks and you need somewhere to sleep during that time- in order to aid you I suggest items you bring in be made as much as possible of leather and wood and iron. Try to stay away from synthetics as much as possible!
Leather , metal or wood bucket- or 2
Camp shovel
Firewood - a minimum of 4 bundles to start- and firestarting equipment- I suggest several kinds as found in army navy stores!
You will need a tent - a 1 person tent- even if married you will have a seperate space - for you to meditate and be silent-no worries you can sleep wherever you like- as long as everyone is in agreement NO co-ersion !
camp toilet - no chemical
solar shower
everything you need to camp-from a camp cot ,sleeping bag, to a cook set,camp stove,flashlights, camp lantern
food for your camp- we will be taking weekly trips into town as well and you may get more supplies as needed at your expense. Please focus on healthy organics!
Bring a dozen packs of heirloom seeds for your camp garden and well as to share in the group garden!
Supplies to clean your dishes-and of course then you need those dishes- I suggest as we are embracing simplicity a military mess kit is perfect!
Hygiene items that are chemical free-no flouride toothpaste, I suggest Dr Bonners Castille soaps for washing hair and body-even clothes and dishes! Deodorant would be natural as well- non scented please!
We DO NOT cut our hair or shave while in school- so no need for razors and such! If you choose this path you will eventually have long dread lock like braids...cutting hair cutes power-and energy... hair holds cellular memory!

STURDY Oak staff- 1 foot taller than you- do not worry about ornate at this point-go for sturdy - able to bear your weight as you will be vaulting over streams and practicing traditional Druidic Staff Fighting
Leather belt
On that belt you will need a knife in a leather sheath, hatchet in a leather sheath
small pouch on the belt to carry 1st aid supplies ,sewing supplies and to pick up any items on your walks
leather pouch carrying case-man purse-lol- long straps to sling over your shoulder as you will be carrying your lunch out into the forrest w you every day.-no back packs.
Carry in the woods items needed to cleansing if you need to go to the restroom- a short sturdy stick to dig your hole, a napkin pack and antibacterial wash is fine.
a variety of bandanas to wrap up food ,to wet for cooling off ,etc.
a canteen
wine flask if you wish!
leather bottomed sandals, walking shoes or mocassins -mostly you will be barefooted- but when you wear shoes only leather bottomed please!
Please bring only all natural sturdy workable clothing- we will be making our novice apparel the 1st few weeks you are here but you can start with simply cotton khaki slacks or shorts and a white cotton shirt.
STURDY - Long warm cloak- men wear dark brown-women wear a lovely sky blue- we will be making ceremonial robes- these you want for cold mornings and evening around the fire!
Bring gloves and hats as well- we start the season in cool weather- and end the season in the frosty times...
In the afternoons you will be spending time making crafts and honing your arts...
Bring your own Items for your special arts or crafts..
If you are a hunter gatherer-you need a cross bow ,fishing gear, skinning knives and such...
If you are a painter-bring your supplies
If you want to make candles and soaps-bring your supplies-everything you need from pots to bees wax-everything..
If you want to carve wood and make ceremonial tools- bring those supplies
If you are a healer bring those supplies
Do you make herbal preparations,tinctures, salves and such-bring your supplies!
Bring your divination tools of choice - we will be putting together other sort of things based on natural objects but bring your own as well...
Potters-bring your supplies..you will likely build a kiln that 1st year .
Blacksmithing-likewise bring what you need-
Stonecrafters the same...
Leathercrafters...the same
Knitting and sewing -the same ....
If you are a bard-bring what you need to write your songs and your poems and stories..
If you will be making any sort of arts and crafts at all- you will have afternoons to hone skills-so bring everything you need!
Items made can either be traded in the school - bartered- or can be sold in the school shoppe ( I host many public gatherings and folks love to shoppe!) Items sold at the shoppe - 70% is divided EQUALLY between students and 30% goes back to the school .

To get what you want-you have to KNOW what you want!
I was one of those big followers of the Law of Attraction-The Secret and the Moses Code" I am" manifestation fan. I went to seminars focused on using that knowledge to manifest wealth,prosperity,abundance ... I saw myself becoming a Metaphysical milllionaire.... I ran a large social network-"I am Prosperity"... I led abundance ceremony... blah,blah,blah...
and yet... I only got so far..HMMMM_ why?
Because what I was seeking to create DID NOT resonate with my SOULS calling!
Because being a wealthy metaphysician living in a manor disconnected to everyday reality was NOT part of my Dharma / right work/ life mission .
I was seeking to create what I thought-I was supposed to want!
Now there is a twist- creating what I was supposed to want-HEY- we are in American- aren't we supposed to WANT to be wealthy and live in luxury???
I fell in with that whole trap-that whole mindset-for a few years.
Then after 2008 and the economic crash-I still tried to do it- for a while... but it was hollow for me.
Being FORCED by circumstances I had to embrace simplicity or go down the tubes... or let my marriage fail-or both!
My husband is a builder /developer-he had all his lifes savings tied up in a multi million dollar construction project planning on early retirement-then one day.. BOOM-CRASH-went the housing market..
I was working as an artist and healer- I got $600- $2200 for my art and made $200 an hour as a healer.. just as suddenly ones that had been happy to pay those prices -were not spending!
We went bankrupt- lost our condo,lost the new car, lost the lifes savings -
We moved from an expensive really nice area of Northern VA where our condo payment was $1400 a month-to the house my husbands father and grandfather had built-just outside a ghetto area in Pittsburgh where we only had a little $100 a month payment- we got a beater car.. the only bills we had were utility bills.We went on food stamps and got food at the Catholic Food Bank.
When we moved-we pulled up in our moving van-after filling it w gas- we had $75.00 left to our name - and we needed gas in the car and had NO food....none.
We started over-embraced simplicity .. it was a struggle-our ego had to heal and let go of the past!
My husband spiraled into a 2 year depression.Our marriage suffered- we even seperated for a time. I lost my ability to nurture him as I was TIRED and burned out myself.
It was a break in faith as well- all the things I had trusted in-manifestation- abundance... prosperity-things I had taught and lived for.. had failed.
Eventually -about 18 months ago I hear my sister say she was a prepper-I started looking into the whole prepper movement and my husband and I jumped in- for me growing up on a homested it was getting back to the way I was raised-for him as well.. his parents had been depression survivors and always had 2 years of supplies in this very same little cottage.. we began to heirloom seed garden-to practice preparedness.. has simplified and focused our lives even more so.. I will write whole articles on that-I just wanted to touch on base w it today...
Before I go to the next phase I want to express gratitude...
I HAVE LEARNED ALOT FROM THE FIGHTING SPIRIT OF PITTSBURGH-FOR WHICH I WILL ALWAYS BE GRATEFUL! Beneath these hard shells are hearts of gold!
At 1st-I struggled to get a footing doing my work as a healer- I literally had metaphysical business owners seek to keep me away from events- would not let me in-did their best to limit me .. it was WIERD- the fear of competition here...I never could really get things going smoothly in Pittsburgh. I had to deal with fighters for the 1st time- Pittsburgh folks are tough-fighters..being Southern I judged them as crude and rude. They don't trust outsiders...it takes along time to be trusted.. and plus the Catholic church still has such a stranglehold- folks coming out of that are burdened w guilt and made to feel shame- and they are ANGRY...rightly so I should say... SO instead of judging I began a phase of assimilating and learning to be stronger myself.
I am absolutely grateful for the hard lessons.. the folks here are tough- hard workers-sensible,practical-resiliant.. I needed those lessons to move the the next phase of my own incarnation...
Finding what I am truly here to do... FINALLY KNOWING THE PATH THAT calls my soul....
The simplicity path-moving back home to the Mountains of Western NC amongst the old growth forrests and living the way I had lived at the 1st part of my life.. but being able to be metaphysially open! Living in a pagan friendly area...doing my work publicly with no need to fear repurcussions from closed minded folks...
Being OUT as a pagan practitioner-and TEACHING what I know...
The Mystical Homesteading Path- I started out my life on a homestead you see- and I will finish my time on this Blue Jewel in the same way... be there on the homestead when I am 120 years old and die of a massive pleasure induced- orgasmic stroke-lol- with a man 70 years my junior-lol... yep that IS the plan!
I am also fulfilling something my Grandfather prophecied when I was young-that I would bring the Druidic College of Avalon Arising back into 3rd dimensional manifestation- it dwells now in the Etheric Realm.
This is totally ties in with the Homestead -having ones stay for a 9 month school year ... learning about the Ancient Order of Practitioners of Dana- wearers of brown... simplicity and frugality seekers- homesteading-learning the Olde Ways-the ways of self sufficiency, Earthkeeping, Practical Mysticism , being connected to the Bees and the Trees.. simplifying-being detoxed from electromagnetic frequencies.. making our own foods ,sacred tools, medicines and clothes-completley off grid-chemical and plastic free..living life in a state of present mindfullness ,consciously slowing down to the natural ryhthms and aligning to them..
The prices we will charge willl NEVER make me a metaphysical millionaire.. and I could care less about that...We are charging $500.00 per quarter per student- for 3,6 or 9 month stay... with a,limit of 12 students. To keep costs very low ones will need to provide their own tent- and everything they need in it- firewood, food, bedding. We will work the homestead together- and build -and share the foods and the herbs...conduct ceremony for the public- make items to sell...
We will have a little homestead store-giving the school members 70% of the proceeds of items they make- sort of an arts and crafts co-op ... because we will take turns minding the shoppe as it were..(proceeds left will go the running of the homestead project) ....perhaps in time together we will form a small biodynamically grown CSA - make crafts ,herbal healing concoctions,soaps,candles and hand crafted clothing and sell those at our healing gatherings...residents of the school will have afternoons to create.. hopefully making enough to more than cover their tuition and having money to live on and SAVE for the future!! .. that is part of my goal- to provide not only an education-but economic means for folks ... in a New Earth paradigm of unselfish service!

Manifesting dreams come true!
On my birthday I am going to indulge myself in dream manifestation in writing my blog and on the radio show-the free on-air reading I give away today will be for ME-lol!! I want to write and talk about the move to NC to my perfect 1 room cabin / off grid homestead, back to Eden blended with biodynamic /cottage witch gardening-living simply-frugally-cash only-no debt... making everything -slow living- , mindfullness- my mystery school, meetups and classes upcoming- healing circles and simple abundance!
I am an ubber Virgo- and my birthday is TODAY-Aug 23 2012!
I am moving in a few weeks to Western NC- an area I lived in for over a quarter of a century and where my heart has called me home-to settle in a FOREVER place!
Since I was 16 and came across a wonderful abandoned 1 room cottage while out riding my horse in the country-I have longed for a 1 room cabin! I was able to walk in the cabin and see how wonderfully it was laid out-I found out later the old old lady that had lived there had passed away several years previous and the cabin had been built for her by her son so she could live close by him when she got older and needed assistance ...you could still feel the presence of her loving energy!

Now that I am abit older and my children are grown-I can look to having my very own 1 room cabin!
Now this will only be my FT residence for the 1st year of the move- once my husbands construction management job is finished up North he will be moving down to NC w me permanently -then we are building a 3 or 4 room cabin for us...it will have solar and wind generated energy.. for my 1 room cabin-I want to be basically electromagnetic free!
I am going to live a year of haul more water-chop more wood!
I will never leave that life it will simply shift abit once hubby is down South FT-he energetically takes up TOO much space for a simple 1 room cabin !
After he moves down I will be using the 1 room cabin as my work space- artist studio and get away from everything PT residence- sacred retreat and healing space. Still mine all mine!!

I have the typical rose covered cottage-with a picket fence all the way around and a gated trellis to walk into my space- following the Ancient Celtic Axiom-"All who enter this space shall feel the Enchantment of a time removed from time!"
My cottage has the proper front porch with a swing and 2 white rocking chairs...lots of window boxs-every window will have a window box-and deep ledges inside for growing flowers and herbs!
I have a love for old fashioned English Cottage Gardens-over spilling with life and flower faeries!

Interplanted amongst the flowers you will find vegetables and herbs . Bushes are either be exquisetely beautiful and fragrant OR edible/medicinals .Trees in the yard are nuts and fruits!

I have a dozen well tended raised beds in my back garden-planting /harvesting with the Moon Phases and using the Biodynamic Seeds and Preparations-ya know-Cottage Witch Gardening!

I have in my back yard a covered outdoor kitchen /baking area with rainwater harvesting system and a place to store firewood ..I am going to have a long table for al fresco dining and LOADS of hanging plants and planters all around this beautiful tin roofed structure (ever heard rain on a tin roof ???sighs..)
I have a stone spring house for cold ,fresh foods storage and ice cold water!
We have as well as Fire Circle for ceremony-but also for simply gathering w friends for fellowship. music,drumming, toasting of homemade marshmallows.. and fun times.. which is you ask Me-IS Sacred time!!

We have the old fashioned outhouse with the Moon Cutout-but the path to it is flower strewn and laid out in stone and the solar composting outhouse is painted inside and out with fresh and inviting colors!
We have a solar shower built for warm weather outdoor showers! It only takes a gollon of water to shower once trained in how to do so- and the water is heated in black jugs-ready for use! Just refill when done so the next person can have a warm shower too!

A smoke house to preserve meats like smoke hams and bacon and to make smoked trout and salmon- venison jerky and such... YUM! ALSO- when we wish to make long cooked smoked pork barbecue, smoked turkey and chickens for our Sacred Feast HolyDays!
We are raising our own meat animals and these processed in a sacred manner as the Native Americans-Muslims and Jewish folks practice...honoring the life force,causing no fear or pain- prayerfully and respectfully.

I have a hen house for eggs- and be raising meat chickens. We intend to make some nice chicken tractors and also to let them out during the day to FREE RANGE for natural pest control in the garden and for some HAPPY hens!
We have milk goats and a jersey milk cow for all our RAW dairy needs- homemade cheese,butter and yoghurt-clabbered cream for our morning steel cut oatmeal!!
We raise meat and angora rabbits for wool - along with selling heirloom varieties of bunnies . They are great placed over a worm bed and the worms are great for the garden and to sell to fishermen!
We have a seperate fenced in herb bed -these are w the 3 bee hives!
I have an old fashioned laundry line ,tool shed and such... all structures will take into account-standing for hundreds of years, being lovely(I am an artist) and of a practical ,imminently useful nature!

INSIDE my 1 room cabin-come on up to the front porch- 3 steps-1,2,3,-cross the wood slatted floor and by the rockers on the left and the swing on the right-please leave shoes at front door! See that little stand made just for the shoes-Yes there!
1st enter through the hand made slammy screen door-you remember that sound from summers past!! Insert of the door is a hand carved triskette-my sacred symbol of choice! Representing Sacred Water-Divine Feminine-the Life blood of Mother Earth!

Front door is open to the East as is traditional in NA beliefs. Opening to the Morning Sun!
Off to your far left is the kitchen wall- 16 feet wide- with a small propane cook stove- a cold water sink w Victorian style hand pump- and then a propane small fridge - in front of of the sink is a nice big butcher block table w over head pot rack .Instead of cupboards -above will be hand crafted sheliving and dish storage -below will be curtained shelving . I plan to have a nice large greenhouse type window here for growing herbs and looking out of doors when doing dishes .
Notice dishes are all hand crafted pottery brightly painted, glasses are canning and jelly jars and pots are either copper or cast iron with some poecelein french cookware as well...we use no paper products in the kitchen here-hand towels or proper clothe napkins please!

Water for winter washing body,daily dishes and home keeping will be heated on the stove and water used in a mindful no waste manner! Multi using water because - I will use a low suds /little as possible soap - all the soap I use will be non toxic /organics and can be used to water plants.

As you came into the cabin directly in front of you is a small square hand crafted table w 3 chairs- backed up to a 40's inspired overstuffed sofa - the back wall there is my wood stove.
I have chosen a wood stove that allows me to see the fire,that has 2 burners on top and an oven for baking! Heat,cooking,water heating all in 1 !!! On the left oof the woodstove is my big ole hand made antique wooden rocker- on the right side sitting cata cornered is my plush overstuffed reading chair and ottoman- there are a few tables with lanterns for evening lighting and my coffee stable is an antique trunk-filled with hand made quilts for guests and covering legs when reading!

So NOW look on the far right wall- this is my personal bed nest! The mattress is OF COURSE QUEEN sized-for the Queen Bee-lol! I the center is a sumptuously curtained and pillowed -SEXY sumptious-GYPSY style- built in bed with drawers underneath- a large window with deep window ledges for coffee cups, flowers,herbs and books- a built in book shelf at feet and head-of course above the area I need to prop up w pillows! Shelves will hold not only books-but crystals , photoes and statues that make me FEEL GOOD... happy,happy,happy!
Since this is a 16 foot wall -we have the bed centered and on either side we have a small walk in closet area- 4 ft by 6 ft approx each- 1 for clothes and other storage -the other for a wash stand /dressing area and for the nighttime chamber potty!
Last but not least of the furniture-on the front window side- is a small roll top desk and ladder back chair-the 4th from the little antique dining set!

We have an attic space accessed by a pull down staircase- for herb drying ,apple drying and such
Below the cabin accessed by a trap door under the hand woven, kitchen rug - is an old fashioned root cellar.
My screened in back porch is just as pretty as everything else here- with white wicker furniture and lots of English inspired FLOWERY patterns on the cushions-leaning toward bright happy yellows , sagey greens, faded pinks and soft blues ...loads of plants - a great place to snap beans, to do readings on the phone and sip tea! Deep Southern porchs are hand made to enjoy the out of doors on our hot days and sexy ,sultry nights!

My sacred schedule is as followed-this both allows for lots of creativity and hometeading time, time for exercise, writing, art, teaching, making my living and means of maintenance ,reading and recreation-conscious dream manifestation.. while being a hard worker type-I also intend to live simply,slowly,mindfully!

Appalachian Folk Medicine Healing Circles
Good morning love lights!
I want to share with you today -my love... purr... my passion and my work/dharma!
Running Appalachian Folk Medicine Healing Circles !
These last 2 to 3 hours and are likely the most fun in a sacred setting we all will have for years to come... I kid you not.. manifest joy is KEY to your best healing!
The healing events are ecumenical and honor all sacred paths that do no harm.. it is VERY spiritual but NOT religious!
In these I do old time Mountain Ecstatic Medicine Healing -we open Sacred Space with a prayer to invite the Holy Archangels in to surround our space with love and light!
We do a smudging ceremony and we clear the auric field with rattles and feathers.
I smoke a corncob pipe of mugwort-this is an aid to my 2nd sight... to SEE into your energy body-I don't NEED the Mugwort to KNOW and work with healing and balancing your energy body-but Mugwort Medicine she works with me to SEE-literally SEE your energy body ! The various colors in the energy body help me to see and draw out dark energies /illness.
Opening Sacred Space- This is an extensive prayer that allows me to slip into a trance state-to call in all the Spirit helpers needed for the group gathered- who ever shows up is very much about WHAT YOU AND THE GROUP NEEDS -so is different each time!
...I do drumming and singing -receive messages from the Higher Dimensions of love and light.. as an unconscious shamanic trance medium healer.
We work with some lovely large generator crystals -OHHHHHHH.. they are GOOD Healers!
I ask any who wish to bring drums,flutes,rattles, didgeredoos, crystal and metal singing and prayer bowls -also feel free to sing along and you are NOT confined to your chair... DANCING IS ENCOURAGED!!
Bring a scarf to dance with too if you like-that is FUN!! When we can we will do these outside around a campfire..
We raise the vibration as high as we can and call in JOY energy for spontaneous healing!
We invite in miracles.. jaw dropping miracles that make us LAUGH outloud with the KNOWING that we are LOVE and we are LOVED !!
During our healing we always offer free vegan soup infused with healing energy and Shaman Sandys Journeying Tea- relaxing, yummy and healing herb tea! Probably a fat loaded / non vegetarian w bacon grease ,eggs and buttermilk laden- traditional cake of cornbread too- ...
During the healing work at some time I will ask those that want psychic surgery to line up and will do laying on of the hands healing.Drawing out what needs removing with my right hand- giving whatever is pulled out as a transport medium to the angels- they remove this..all the way from me-no worries!
Then with my left hand we infuse Angel Love Light Healing Energy with the Hands of Fire ... some see the fire- I FEEL it ... this healing was gifted by the angels during my Near Death Experience ... it is literally amazing to be a conduit for such power- I feel it pulse into people-and I KNOW when they get healed.. it may be INSTANT HEALING or take 30 days to show up in their lives and they may need to and often do come more than once.. but I feel a definite healing has ocured -on whatever level you are READY for a miracle (you don't even have to believe in them to be ready for them) .. that is the level you get.. SO PLEASE BE OPEN TO THE POSSIBILITIES!!
Often I get intuitive messages around your needs health wise... perhaps additional healing you may be needing or what could be the root source of your problem.. PLEASE remember.. as I am an UNCONSCIOUS trance medium healer and won't have much memory IF ANY around the healing circle! Today I resonate with the "Kitchen Witch" side of the family!
Hello love lights!
Today I feel very connected with the side of my family that is full of healers,kitchen and cottage witchs !
I have been enjoying the garden-singing to Mother Earth in gratitude for her bounty-thanking Great Spirit/God for the Creations...
Songs have been streaming from my lips as I harvest-I hum like a satisfied bee!
My food dehydrator is humming along making dehydrated white eggplant-next in line is yellow zucchini- and then cherries to makes some more of Mammys Cough Syrup -adding dehydrated cherries is my ancestral addition!!
I have a batch of dark rye bread rising- for 3 loaves -my husband needs good hearty organic breads with his diet and they were getting very expensive to buy-so NOW we make them instead.. and do I JUST make bread...PERISH THE THOUGHT!!! -when my hands are kneading my heart is sending love through those hands-when I made up the Mother (the yeast,sugar and warm water) I sing gratitude to the Mother and I stir w a Wooden spoon -Clockwise I stir love to others-counterclockwise I am willing to receive love.. I stir in Reiki symbols and infiniti symbol... singing and stirring..
I pulled beets from the garden, snipped parsley for taboulli, picked 3 small cukes,dug up a few potatoes and picked a batch of green beans-I gathered sweet cherry tomatoes and green onions ..my garden is small but it makes JUST enough for my hubby and I to eat fresh veggies most days!

I am SOOO excited because today is the 1st time this year I can use my own veggies for taboulli!! I LOVES me some taboulli!
We shored up some tomato plants heavy with lusciousness -but down on the ground susceptible to slug attacks- we buried a can of open beer in there too- slug get drunk and die fest-lol!
As I picked and cut and pulled I had time to reflect on lessons of this past year and how things that SEEM bad end up being good!
In gratitiude this year-this has been a year of lessons and letting go -because of the drought ,issues with deer and groundhogs and my 2 or 3 months of being sick our community garden was a a flop-BUT NOT-one of the members is BUYING the land and forming an urban CSA here! Yeah-I am moving back down South-I am SOOOOO grateful they are taking over and expanding the project!!
This past year I had to learn up close and prsonal how to deal with energy drainers ,barnacles and slugs.. literally and energetically! I had to"deal" with 3 seperate people and leave a group of folks I like but was not resonating energetically- that was hard!
I had a person pretend to be my friend but this so called "sweet person"-New Agey Hippy type that seemed SO harmless... was only trying to use,manipulate and steal business from me- literally and blatantly! Right in my own home at events I hosted and paid for-I had to put brakes on and literally tell them to never come back here again! .. plus they had decided my husband was their husband and we were gonna be sister wives-UMMMM- NO!!
How was this good? I learned to grow a set-that is why! I learned to recognize energy barnacles and I learned I am NOT supposed to partner up in my work-Medicine Women work alone! I learned to speak up and to handle a group better-to be firmer and stronger!
I learned to say NO this year-no you cannot-no I don't feel well enough to do that-no the energy doesn't work for me- no I can't sorry-NO explanation needed!
I bet saying NO is hard for YOU too! It really is-but we have to.. or we become the Universal Doormat .
I said YES to things that resonate with me-such as the Spirit call to move back down South to homestead . The YES to forming Meetup gathering groups down in Asheville,to starting Mystery School and starting a Blogtalk radio show(doing them off and on since 2007)- we have a You Tube show coming! Lots of Yesses- but ONLY ones that made me FEEL expanded!.. Lots of YESSES to my own healing and getting into shape! To giving my life the time and energy I needed to get going on MY preferred personal path of POWER ...
Today I heard some plants call me-"come get me HELP"...so transplanted some struggling tomato and green pepper plants from the community garden where their roots did not have enough space to really thrive and being so far from the house here was not time to tend them lovingly - I did that with some potted leeks as well ...I am moving for that reason too- my roots need to sink deeper- I NEED TO GROW HIGHER -UP-UP-UP to the light and DEEP-DEEP-DEEP in the Earth Mothers Belly!! ....and the one transplanting me is ME !!!
I AM give my own calling TIME - LOVE and attention to thrive and grow-in LOVE and LIGHT!
So today I resonate with the independent, loving.... yes , power- filled -strong and driven women I seed from... My Kitchen Witch side-you ladies.. YOU ROCK!!
Today I feel very connected with the side of my family that is full of healers,kitchen and cottage witchs !
I have been enjoying the garden-singing to Mother Earth in gratitude for her bounty-thanking Great Spirit/God for the Creations...
Songs have been streaming from my lips as I harvest-I hum like a satisfied bee!
My food dehydrator is humming along making dehydrated white eggplant-next in line is yellow zucchini- and then cherries to makes some more of Mammys Cough Syrup -adding dehydrated cherries is my ancestral addition!!
I have a batch of dark rye bread rising- for 3 loaves -my husband needs good hearty organic breads with his diet and they were getting very expensive to buy-so NOW we make them instead.. and do I JUST make bread...PERISH THE THOUGHT!!! -when my hands are kneading my heart is sending love through those hands-when I made up the Mother (the yeast,sugar and warm water) I sing gratitude to the Mother and I stir w a Wooden spoon -Clockwise I stir love to others-counterclockwise I am willing to receive love.. I stir in Reiki symbols and infiniti symbol... singing and stirring..
I pulled beets from the garden, snipped parsley for taboulli, picked 3 small cukes,dug up a few potatoes and picked a batch of green beans-I gathered sweet cherry tomatoes and green onions ..my garden is small but it makes JUST enough for my hubby and I to eat fresh veggies most days!

Prepper stuff- Bug out bags, car prepping, purse preps and hiking preps
We really intend to "BUG IN" or sit tight and stay home if things go down the tubes..
But if needed we do need to have a back up plan!
I am not going to speak on any weaponry or defenses-except to say- while peaceable people if someone wants to break bad and intends to do harm -we are not sheeple - we get it- KK!!??
Besides bug out- shtf and such...
I believe in day to day preparedness as well- having snacks and water in the car- Besides tools-and a spare tire of course..I have an emergency blanket , a hikers shovel, an oak walking stick/ oh no you don't stick... lol... a few flash lights , dog watering bowl, wipes and tp in the car all the time. My husband carries alot of different clothes and shoes-he has worked in construction all his life and knows how to prep to dress for all types of weather changes. I need to do that too- simply adding a dry pair of shoes and socks , change or 2 of undies and a sweater , raincoat and even a larger casual winter coat -would be a GREAT idea!
Of course keeping the car well maintained and full of gas is important too- plus I DO need to get some extra gas cans.. for any SHTF bugout needs...I do not want to be one of those people in line getting it together if need be...that could be some major drama in an already stressful scenario!
Ya know per person prepping- it really doesn't take much space in the car-just an extra bin back there-
I should get flairs too...yep need flairs!
For day to day-I carry preps in my purse- with that I think-ok what if I had to walk cross town to get home... so I ALWAYS have water on me-always..I carry a multi tool , pocket knife, chap stick, mini 1st aid kit and sewing kit, little protein snack and power bar, little flashlight-key chain w pepper spray and a paracord bracelet.-I transfer that to my hiking bag when I take my daily walks.
I take pretty much everyday hikes and carry a big stick- literally an oak hiking stick to both aid me when walking (takes alot of stress off the knees) but also as a defensive weapon if needed ... so in my pack have protein bars, jerky, nuts, water and juice, dog water bowl, emergency blanket,wipe and hand sanitizer, mini 1st aid kit - I think-OK what if I fell down on the trail and it took me 12 hours to get help - what would I need? I also keep my ID and wallet (not much cash- ) in a plastic bag so when I give doggy water my things don't get wet (learned that lesson the messy way)
I had not gotten around to the BIG- 3 days of supplies for if we have to leave the area in a Hurry-or traditionally known as the "BUG OUT" bag.. till now-FINALLY!!
Yeppers-I finally got a bug out bag put together-don't have the official army surplus bag yet-but have all my things together easily gotten if needed- but not neatly packed ya know..
Hubby will put his together himself-I am cool with Dollar Tree items alot of the time-he is not.. so I have my bag ready- nananaboo boo...ya know what- When SHTF - he will be eating my dollar tree stuff won't he ???... hmmm... maybe I better make him an el cheapo bag like mine while he waits on the funds to do his upscale version!
Most of my things actually I got at costco and the army surplus-but my little meds and hygiene items-oh yes I went cheap!!
I also need to put together a pet bug out kit-have that thought out-just need to do it...
I did the have 3 days of supplies bag- with food and water, some gatorade and such
Mostly the jerky,dried fruit, nuts types of foods. I have some dehydrated soups for warm foods. Dates say good for over a year - so when time comes I will swap out newer items ...My birthday is next week so I will use my birthdate as a "change out the bug out foods" time!
For cooking -I have a little sterno stove and 3 cans of sterno w waterproof matchs plus a few waterproof fire starters
I will be getting a magnesium stick as well.
I have a mess kit to cook and eat with..
For bathroom I have wipes and hand sanitizers
I have a little 1st Aid Kit and a little sewing kit
Some meds like aspirin and mucinex
A pair of gloves
Emergency blanket and disposable poncho
I know my preps are by no means exhaustive- some folks have been getting it together for a long time- we have just been consistently doing it for maybe -hmm-let's see-under 18 months. We have done the best we can in that time...
Well hey to all you preppers and people thinking on it-I HOPE you do... it is at the very least a good return on your investment of time and money- a good insurance policy we HOPE we never need .

Ones can start off coming to classes whenever they like through Meetup -to advance one may come full time to our 3,6,9 ,12 and 2 year apprenticieship program-living off grid onsite. There will be a maximum of 12 students onsite .

You will be working and learning old time life skills and craft on the homestead several hours a day,doing daily sacred walks in the forest, wildcrafting, meditating, doing Staff Fighting Practice,cooking together,being taught lessons on Druidism and ancient ways of Connecting to Nature!

Ones can start off coming to classes whenever they like through Meetup -to advance one may come full time to our 3,6,9 ,12 and 2 year apprenticieship program-living off grid onsite. Learning Druidic /Practical Mystical Living ,Becoming a Practitioner of Dana,learning the ancient healing ways., living nature worship as a way of Being, becoming a bee sanctuary keeper , learning off grid living, learning Druid Staff fighting and self defense, homesteading,old time life skills, mindfullness and of COURSE Magick!
The cost for apprenticeship is $500.00 per quarter.
There will be a maximum of 12 students onsite .
You must provide your own tent, bring organic food to share with the group, firewood. We will have a solar shower, outdoor bathroom facility and campfire ring as well as outdoor covered kitchen and dining area .
You will be working and learning old time life skills and craft on the homestead several hours a day,doing daily sacred walks in the forest, wildcrafting, meditating, doing Staff Fighting Practice,cooking together,being taught lessons on Druidism and ancient ways of Connecting to Nature!
As a break from electromagentic waves we do not allow cell phones to be used except for emergency onsite!

Sacred Nature Walks as a Daily Spiritual Practice

Divine Love Lights-Chldren of Great Spirit and Mother Earth!
May I take a walk with you-let us stroll down an ancient path of knowing- to aid to you remember you own true and divine nature... Blessed Child-Beloved One!
I take daily Sacred Times of Walking in Nature.
I believe in taking these walks alone with my dog.
Once my Druidic College of Avalon Arising is fully formed and functioning down in Chimney Rock NC these will be as a group teaching tool-but done mainly in silence. I will also need times alone to maintain MY own connection!
Often times as teachers we forget our own needs to connect to Nature personally...and over time that can get us out of balance! Always remember-it is in silence we hear the whispers of Spirit!
I wear sturdy hiking boots because part of the path I walk is steep-this makes me breathe hard and works my legs out well- I have to be careful to keep my balance -I have to watch the trail and be aware of my surroundings .. ah- a life lesson..

Having a strong oak staff helps me maintain my
balance,offers protection and aids me in energy gathering- a true multitasking magickal partner!!
I go along spaces that are flat and straight and easy-where sunlight shines through dabbled shade...to me this represents those easy times in life...I enjoy those places and take my time to sit on a stone and have a cold drink of water and a few almonds. I am called by nature to begin to carry sacred tobacco and corn meal to leave as a thank-you to nature for these blessed and easy flowing times! I learn to BE where I am... in the moment.. ah another lesson!
I come to an area I love that is a horseshoe shaped cove of rocks 20 feet high all around-at the far back is a waterfall that runs only when it has rained.. above this is a campground- sadly trash from inconsiderate humans is about-broken bottles, chip bags, plastic water bottles -I feel a flash of anger at the people who would do this.. immeditaely I hear a voice in my mind-"do not be angry at the unanware innocents-for they know not what they do." ..I get a reminder form the Spirits of Nature to stay in a state of peace...I ALSO get asked by them to please bring a bag on my walks and start cleaning the space.I agree...immeditately my eye is drawn to a lovely fungal growth fallen from a huge old tree- I pick it up- and it is BEAUTIFUL- spirals and shapes- I hear-"It is a gift for your altar"..I gladly accept such a beautiful gift!..I am reminded of giving exchanges of energy for gifts given in nature- they asked of me a favor-I am glad to do with no expectations of reward-and yet I am immediately rewarded!... ah -another life lesson!
I get to experience many types of mushrooms I had never seen- they speak to me andsay- we will teach you which ones of us are edible-which ones useful in medicines and which ones useful in knowing as poisons.For they say-knowing poisons has it's place as well.
I walk by a patch of poison ivy- and I hear it speak as a group- do not fear us for you are not allergic as you know.. we teach the lesson of protection and of maintaining strong boundaries! In our protection are many animals safe from man- we offer them shelter as many humans fear to tread in places we inhabit.. we too offer a lesson today! I am gratitude manifest for this knowing- a FINE meditation will be had from that lesson-
On and on I go with expereinces like this-I could walk the same mile every day for all my days and never run out of things to see and to know and to learn!
Too many practitioners are tied into only BOOK knowledge- Books are lovely-I lust for books-I adore them- I love the smell,the feel,the energy.. books are my lifelong friends... and YET
Magick is to be experienced by YOU and by ME...the plants and the stones and the animals and the trees and the elements... when we get ourselves out in to NATURE speaks to us.. on a deep personal level!
Reading about someone elses experience can be inspiring and lovely!
My hope and intention by sharing this is to GET YOU OUTSIDE!!
Get those feet onto Mother Earth... wake up your own inner ear and inner eye.. wake up your OWN ancient remembrance! Be inspired to others YES-but KNOW THIS.. If they/ I can do it... YOU CAN DO IT TOO!!!!!

Bee Sanctuary Keepers under the Protection of the Melissa
As an Oracle I sought the Guidance of The Melissa
This she spoke to me this very day
To Bee Sanctuary Keeper
Under my direct protection and tutelage
Take under your care 3 hives of Bees - it is yours to keep and to protect.
Place your garden at least a mile from large pesticide and GMO using farms .
Yourself use only the Natural Seeds gifted to mankind from Gaia Mother.
Interplant multicolored flowers amongst your vegetables.
Thus will your gardens grow strong and attract healthy vital Bees and abundance 10 fold
Have for my children a place of fresh water-pure and untampered.
Growing many flowers and flowering plants my children will not wander far into harms way.
You as protector and Sancturay Keeper will be blessed
Plant your red clover for the joyous dance of the bees and for your simple medicines!
For the feeding of the good soil...
With honey overflowing, wax for your candles and your medicines, meade for your laughter and your ceremony.
I will guide your hand in love.
Weave in a space for the tiny ones - for they are giants in this world.
The unwary know not what they do
Do not judge them...
Those that knowingly raise their hands and hearts up to harm the innocents.
I swear upon them a kharmic vengeance of the stings of a thousand stings upon a thousand wasps.
So Guradians and Sanctuary Keepers-do not fear the darkness.
All is well.

I am going to share KNOWING that-but I hope there are some that resonate with this message!

I dunno care.. seems to me when we left our health and wellfare to corporations we got well-Fucked... yeah I said it-Fucked..
NOW-I want to keep this positive-HOWEVER.. sometimes knowing what you DON'T want or WON'T tolerate anymore is a good incentive for change! Thus it is not negative-but a propelling force - you see!!

When we left our spiritual teachings to a bunch of men in a golden palace we forgot to hear the voice of the Angels and Spirits of Nature OURSELVES! We forgot we are each and every one divine beings having a human existence!
Created in the Image of Creator- REALLY think on that...Creator being neither male nor female-but being BOTH Mother and Father...and WE created in that image- a bit of that Divine Mind.. we have power and capacity FAR FAR much more than we even know!
It is totally NATURAL in the still and in the silence -to hear the Words of The ONE- God /Goddess/Father/Mother for ourselves!
This energy of all love having a thousand names and a thousand faces... representing to us in the way WE need ...
And so as an act of reclaiming my own right to Divine Sovereignty I embrace a life of Conscious Simplicity.
Having not incarnated with an over abundance of finances I KNOW to hear the still quiet voice of the angels -who speak in whispers.. for this to happen FULLY-for me personally it means a letting go of a NEED for an over abundance of material possessions... I need to have in my life SIMPLICITY-Conscious Simplicity
Things that are sublimely beautiful and move me on a SOUL level...

Multi tasking useful , preferably handcrafted
If I choose a chair-I want a comfortable old rocking chair built to nestle in the body -and I love the rythmic sway.I was nursed as a baby my mother sitting in a rocking chair.. so you see- Rocking Chairs for me -are a peace and love-work of useful art!..and I want that perfect over stuffed antique chair with ottoman to curl up with a book, a quilt,a cup of tea and a sleeping kitty- once again.. this RESONATES with my SOUL!
I want a gypsy caravan type,handcrafted built in bed that has book cases and a deep shelf with a window-to sit up in bed and drink my coffee- and to read.. flowers and herbs in the window...
I want a hand made wooded table and 4 chairs- and a roll top desk for writing- then a burcher block counter....rockers and a swing on the porch...
I will have NO plastics there
No cheap and disposable things in my Sacred Living Space!
I am consciously moving off grid

When I say off grid I mean- basically a solar charger for my smart phone for work.
Other than that and a battery operated transistor radio... no modern gadgets.
No running water, no central air or heat, no dishwasher,blow dryer,hot water heater... nada-oh well that is a lie- we WILL have a propane apt sized cook stove and a small propane powered fridge-sorry...
I will ALSO have a wood cook stove for -COOKING-heating the 1 room cabin ,heating water and to enjoy the fire...
I am heading out to follow the -To be happy -haul more wood-tote more water axiom!
Conscious Simplicity as a Sacred Act is what I am actually about-
I am choosing to honor my body- BY
Removing these things
Modern toothpaste- real salt and baking soda will do
Aluminum based Deodorant -I will use all natural hand made deodorants!
Store bought chemical laden soaps,shampoos and the like- at 1st I will use Bonner castille soaps and THEN to add more energy and to be very thrifty - make my own from all natural materials!
I will no more cut my hair,dye my hair or shave (alright I will pluck that occasional chin hair I must admit)
I will no more wear clothes that are made from petroleum based chemicals-I will wear only NATURAL clothe dyed w Natural dyes-
I will no more put on makeup- I am blessed with good skin-I may use kohl- and will always have on natural tinted lip balm I make myself!
I will eat and exercise in a way that allows my body healing- promotes wellness and really gives me a good cleanse.. SO much bad health-if not all- starts with the digestion and elimination...a body that smells BAD is in need of colon detox...we are meant to have our own natural sweet aroma.. that is part of sexual attraction between 2 people- the attractions many times is chemical...sadly we have forgotten these natural ways! ..
And BABIES..does ANYTHING smell as sweet to us as our own babies smell... nothing nothing nothing...
I have thrown medicine bottles in the garbage- no more pharma for me!!
I reclaim and regain and increase in health by TURNING to nature...
I will turn to millet as a grain to eat that heals cancer producing cells
I will use vinegar and honey w garlick to keep my blood pressure and cholesterol and stomach acid all balanced...
I will used bladderwrack tincture to keep thyroid healthy...so on and so on..
I will use my walking time and my gathering of firewood and my drawing of water time as a living breathing prayer of gratitude and meditation time.
I want to touch every drop of water that comes into my home and use it in a sacred manner-when I filter my water I wil, sing a song of thansk to the Waters.. and the Sacred Element of water-to nurture and to heal-not just me -but everyone and everything that same drop of water will touch when it goes on in recycling throughout all time... it is the lifeblood of Mother Earth- Water is a Sacred Element associated with the Divine Feminine.. IT IS LIFE... and modern living is rapeing this resource!
When I make my soup and I make my tea I will stir in love for anyone that comes into my Sacred Circle .
I cannot change the world you see... but I CAN change me!!

Future Vision of a Mystical Homesteader/Prepper-A day in the life!
Living off grid with no electric lights- at 1st I slept and slept and slept.
I had no idea how artificial lighting had robbed the quality of my life and how very sleep derived I had been all my life.
My muscles ached from the hard physical work I was doing everyday- this lasted for the 1st few weeks.
I also had to develop callouses on my hands to do my work. I found I rarely wanted to wear work gloves as I love the touch of the Earth and the hoe in my hand,I love the feel of the axe and the texture of the wood.
Working outside to build the homestead I have had to adjust to warm and cold like I had not in years-having central heat and air condition I lived in an artificial climate of basically 70 degrees year round.NOW- when it is warm outside I feel warm-when it is cold I feel cool-I have learned to layer clothing and to regulate how much I sweat.. it takes some time to figure it out!

When I sat down in the evening I nodded off to sleep too tired to wash up...
I had to adjust to working with farm animals again-in that it doesn't matter how hot,cold,wet or dry ,windy,icey or snowy- animals must be tended to DAILY- and often 2 or 3 times a day..no matter as well if I feel tired or even sickly-It has to happen! They must be fed,watered,bedded down safely, protected- eggs gathered and goats milked. I absolutely love it MOST days-there are other times I am looking at my life saying-Sandy what were you thinking!
Sometimes I miss my husband so far away and working to help pay off our homestead. I want him here with me to hold me- I want to be safe in his arms. I don't want to be the one taking the lead here-I want my partner with me!... When those times well up at night-sometimes I cry... we talk everyday and I see him every other week. I will be happy when his job is finished and he can move here full time!
No I can't say it that way-for I am happier than I have ever been-on a very deep Spiritual level. I just get a tad lonely for him from time to time-to me that is natural to feel when you are in love with someone and can't be together as much as you want to be... BUT- we have a PLAN....
AND THE PLAN IS WORKING WONDERFULLY!!
We have nice shelters for our animals comfort and safety-Chalrie built them for beauty as well... as an artist I appreciate this SO much!! He does it 1 because it is OUR home- 2nd because it will be a model home for his holistically healthy homes...

I have the garden beds built!
We built the fire ring for my work doing Appalachian Medicine Circles as a healer..
We built the Gathering Space- 16 ft by 24 ft tin roofed basically picnic area -on one end we have the stone outdoor kitchen-in the center we have a long wooden table and benchs- then on the opposite end we have our stacks of firewood out of the weather.Along the back wall we have our rainbarrel water collection system set up...I look forward to the Spring planting flowers and herbs all around the Space and hanging lots of flower baskets!!

Soon we will build the Spring House, Smoke House, Garden Shed, Permanent Green House. Bees coming before lonmg... and planting of vineyard, gardens,orchard... sigh....
I have begun doing my work with the public- making a really decent living , so I can keep up with things like food, gas,firewood, building what needs building-having pocket money,etc.. that way Charlie can focus on paying off the land and supplies needed to build the 3 room cabin next- we started with the 1 room cabin-just 16 by 24 ft w a cellar and an attic storage area-all off grid- the 3 room cabin will be solar and wind powered...but this cabin is now to live in and later will be my art and healing and teaching space...
For my work as an Appalachian Folk Medicine Woman-I follow the schedule we received during a channeling session with the Angellic Council of Light .They gave me this gift-to get the most done with my day!
Wed to Fri 3 to 7 or 8 ones drop by for healing or a reading.
Sat at 3 I do large group energy healing circles.
Sunday at 3 I do group Angel Channeling.
I use a solar charger to charge my smart phone-the only tool I really need to do my You Tube Show-New Earth Prophet: phone readings,blogtalk radio show/ again New Earth Prophet... ,update facebook(I do a free reading daily for facebook friends that ask-I ask them to send me a private message stating their question and the name they want me to use online) and also can check and reply simply to e-mails.
Each week I check my meetups online and write a few blogs from the public library computer. My meetups are automated weekly-so that really helps-only problem is it is kinda hard to have any online conversations-in a way-I love that because it aids folks to just come on over or to go ahead and make a call for a reading.. I dislike phone chatting otherwise and especially hate when ones befriend me JUST to get free readings (this has happened more than you would ever imagine-never hear from them till they want a free reading-sheesh...)-don't like phones as I do phone readings for hours a week you see.. now I LOVE those... lol...but for entertainment-NOT-other than my husband and my children and a few minutes talking w/some family and a VERY few friends.
I am a much more- an in person-sort of person....and then only when I am up to people being around-love lots of time to myself-always have honey!
I do my blogtalk radio show weekdays 1 to 2:30
On Monday and Tuesday I am signed up to do phone readings and distance healing through a phone service-so my clients from all over can reach me!
How do I spend my mornings as a Mystical Homesteader/Prepper?
Well like this..
I wake up and have a simple breakfast -coffee and oatmeal or scrambled eggs. Nothing major but I need to eat early because I have to keep my blood sugar regulated.I generally cook on the propane stove-unless it is cool out and we need a fire.
I take a glass of braggs vinegar and local honey in a glass of water morning AND just before bed!
I have a bit of coffee and usually a nice BM- ok that is a GREAT indicator of health so I said it.. lol
I am a tidy sort so I make my bed,tidy up the kitchen and put away anything out of place!
It is now time to do my morning tending of the animals-feeding chickens,pigs,goats,rabbits -milking the goats and gathering the eggs. Once I get back to the house I have to strain the goats milk and put it in the propane fridge to seperate the cream.
I then take a long nature hike with my dog- just around the property really -I have a sweet path to walk and being so near Pisgah National Forrest there is PLENTY of nature here- and it is EVER changing!
I carry a little pistol w me just in case-most folks do around here...
I use my walk as a meditation and prayer time- to connect with my body as a temple of my soul-I listen for messages from Spirit.
After my walk I check garden things- right now all I have is a couple of plastic hoop houses raising greens -so not much to that yet but come next Spring that job will get bigger and bigger .
I get what water I need for the day and if for drinking I run that through my filter. If I am washing clothes I will heat up the water and do my hand washing- with just 1 person that is NOT hard to do as long as I keep up with the wash!
Honey if things pile up laundry wise-I run to the laundrymat- I use that time to do shopping and pop by the library as well.. get my next stack of books-knock out a blog!! I live not far from town so go in every week at least...
If it is cool I chop some wood- I buy already split wood but I have to make kindling- or really SMALL pieces of wood from the logs- haul a load over to the cabn in my trusty wheel barrow.
Whenever I burn wood in the woodstove I make a small pot of soup beans and always have hot water going for tea.. HOMEY-can we say-HOMEY!!
I get myself cleaned up and have time to do some writing and then work on a project before my 1 pm blogtalk radio show
After the show- like I said before Mon and Tues I am on the schedule to get phone readings - Wed to Fri ones come by for healing or a reading w/o an appointment.They know I am here and come when they need me! I let folks pay whatever feels fair to their hearts-I am glad to be of service!
There are times thoiugh when it is quiet and few come by or the phone is quiet - this is the time for me to do artwork or handwork ! I keep it handy-I ALWAYS have several projects going.. from knitting or hand sewing a dress to painting an angel painting.. there too may be food preservation or needed tinctures and herbal brews to be made.
In the evenings I sorta loosely schedule what I need to accomplish in that time each day.. IF I am not busy working w clients ..
Meals-
I usually have some soup for lunch and a salad w a little meat of some sort for supper-frankly w Charlie up North I only eat to fuel my body- I love to cook for a man so when he is home-that is when I really enjoy cooking!!!
In the evenings I have a few kerosene lanterns going- I enjoy doing some reading and some writing on my book-The Appalachian Medicine Ways.I go to bed pretty muc with the Sun though- don't stay up late at all- after all I am awake and active EARLY...
If folks are hanging around in the evenings NOW and again... especially around Full and New Moons or Sabbats -seems like this happens from time to time kinda spontaneously-we often have a bonfire for an hour or so- do some drumming and singing- a bit of dancing.
Come this Spring I will need to adapt because we will be having apprentices living in tents onsite- I will be spending about an hour a day teaching them and sending them off to their various assignments. We are starting with 6 each quarter-building up to a dozen or so in time...it is nice because they will help me build here- I will teach them the Appalachian Medicine Ways as well as homesteading/prepping skills. We can all share the cooking and cleaning up - and they will help me organize and run events.We are offering 3,6,9, and 12 month apprenticeships- it is $500 per quarter- they provide their own tent and bring food enough to supply their needs (which we share and cook together -unless they have a special health,allergy,dietary need-or a vegan diet or something like that... )
This life is defferent from the last 30ish years of my life-but it is how I lived the 1st 18.. so I am back home to heart centerback to my roots!! In love with these Appalachian Mountains!

I would be so excited if it has berry bushes, fruit trees, grape vines and all that already well established! I am open for the place to be already built and set up just as my vision tells me it will look...and so it is !!!

Appalachian Medicine Folk Medicine ,Witches and WannaBE Indians...
It is true-America is a melting pot. We have so many cultures-each rubbing against and affecting the other. We cannot unlearn what we learn from one another-so over time we intergrate our knowledge and something amazing forms-unlike anything in the World!!
From this interaction formed a type of Shamanism called Appalachian Folk Medicine -Practitioners of this are Called Appalachian Folk Medicine Women mostly-or I am sure there are a few-Appalachian Folk Medicine Men.
I am gonna speak about some things about being a Medicine Person-there is much MORE than the tad I am gonna speak on.. and I know this-it actually would take many articles to cover it all...
I follow the olde ways... I am not a new age shaman that caught a bad cold and thus says they had the NDE" Near Death Experience"-no -to me and to many more olde ways practitioners -it MUST be true death!
Let me tell you why.
A Medicine Person/Shaman has a few criteria needed- you MUST have the Near Death Experience to go through the Veil of Death and receive "gifts of Spirit"
Without those gifts -shaman is just a word...A true Medicine Person-has to go into the world of spirit to get answers-at times to fight off bad spirits- to seek aid for powerful spirits.. the NDE is an access point to receiving gifts- you can't be a powerful practitioner without WALKING THROUGH THE VEIL OF DEATH AND RETURNING WITH GIFTS AND AN ASSIGNMENT TO SERVE YOUR COMMUNITY ...
You must recieve direct gifts-like songs,ceremony and ability.
You will either be taught by a person or persons but it can be DIRECT spirit teaching!
We know everything has consciousness and we can speak to this -to affect change and healing or to simply learn!
You must walk between the world of the mundane and the world of spirit at ALL times!
As ones power grows-they BECOME the Vortex-They BECOME living ,breathing ,walking SACRED SPACE.. all the time!
Much of our power is knowing we are powerful.
We are given special names in ceremony- some of these are never spoken outloud or shared-others are public spirit names-I have both SandraBear and Spirit Weaver -and in the Celtic Tradition I am called Madonna of the Doves. Doves in old days were Oracles.
A shaman /medicine person-does NOT need spells, tools or particular incantations...we have gifts of spirit.
We DO most of the time use tools but that is for the sake of the ones that come to us-AND- we resonate with certain tools knowing they have a consciousness and a spirit!
Over time we are "called out" by certain plant medicines to work with- I work with mainly mugwort- she is a Moon Plant and helpful especially to women.I work with many herbs and teas-but Mugwort Medicine-or the magickal energy of mugwort is my particular plant medicine.
We are also
'called out" by certain animal spirits -I will talk much more about that at another time...
We ALSO must serve a community- we get called to be this-because there is a need !
I don't do spells but shamanic manifestation -If so- if I did spell work-I could perhaps use the word Cottage Witch, Hedge Witch ,Green Witch, Garden Witch-but do not because we in my family sprung from not only the Celtic Shamanic Path as a line of Druids-but also from the Cherokee Medicine Ways as descendants of the Bear Clan.
My Dads PATERNAL family was Cherokee ..I do have many Witches in my Dads MATERNAL family-his Mom was Irish and they WERE Cottage Witchs- but I was not taught that way till the last few years.. I was taught directly by my Druid MATERNAL Grandfather... My Mothers Father.. got it?? lol.. I know confusing to you-not to me! ..Oh and My Mothers Maternal side- were not consciously anything other than Christian and Farmers..but they planted by Moom phase,know more about plant medicine than anyone I have ever seen and were named-get this CRAFT-yes my maternal Grandmothers maiden name was Craft!! Heehee....
My Grandfather as a Druid of a Line of Wearers of Brown. As Practitioner of the Celtic Mother Earth Dana-they were taught in the Druidic College of Avalon Arising (I will blog on that later as well) .He taught me that Witchs were uneducated and Druids were more orderly taught and deeper taught.Now-please don't get mad-that is what I was taught.. I DIDN'T say -that is what I believe! That is obviously some old back in the day prejudice . I studied Witchcraft for 2 years to get to know the system as well-and found it to be very deep and amazing!
I don't call myself a witch-but many friends I have that are witchs would call me a witch...I still stand with Appalachian Folk Medicine Woman. It has passed down in my family-and it is what rings true for my soul!
I am going to share abit about our ways..
I use the word" Medicine Woman" -as it is more traditional to Indigenous Native American Ways.. we never called ourselves Shamans.I have called myself a Multicultural Rainbow Shaman in the past-but more as a marketing tool or to be understood. I even called myself a Cherokee Shaman for awhile but that was just for a few weeks- I am NOT strictly taught ONLY Cherokee Medicine so that would be disengenous and disespectful to ones who are... Mine IS a Rainbow path of Multicultural Medicine/Appalachian Medicine.
I am registerable Eastern Band Cherokee- my mixed race Grandfather was raised off reservation by a white family before the 1920's and so was NOT registered. I have several 1st cousins that proved our blood line and his family tree and so ARE registered.
We don't call ourselves Shamans ya know- never have.. tradtitionally ...I use the word today "Shaman" here and now-because people seem to resonate with it and understand it more than Medicine Woman... I still call myself Medicine Woman.
I call myself an APPALACHIAN Medicine Woman and not strictly Cherokee because I have another side and that is Celtic/Irish. That Medicine Way is vitally important to my development and I have chosen a blended path. Well I didn't really chose it-it blended in my family for hundreds of years in the rural deep Southern Appalachians.
We are a people who are strong and independent. Fiercely so. May you understand there once was alot of prejudice against ones of mixed heritage-from BOTH sides.. still is actually.
Except that we are really powerful and people need our healing.
We helped and help the sick, some specialize in care of the dying- many tend young mothers who just had babies. My specialty is KEEPING people healthy, pain managememnt and through my gift- have been priviledged to heal cancer, MS, arthritis,depression,anxiety,social disorders, lower tumor sizes by 1/2 in a night,have gangrene heal the Doctors had given up on- oh and lots more.. the CREDIT goes to Creator-AND the bodies amazing ability to SELF heal once energy/spirit blockages are removed!
I do my work partly in group setting-Folk Medicine Healing Circles. I also let ones come by at set hours without appointment to see me.
Right now I am in transition in a move back to the Western North Carolina Mtns near Chimney Rock-Once I get moved I will start seeing folks again.
I am excited to be moving home-because pople there understand going to a Medicine Person.. In Pittsburgh No one seemed to really get me.. in a deep Catholic stronghold-they thought I was a Witch or an Angel- some thought I might be dark and evil.. let me assure you... I am gonna go ahead and get registered in the Eastern Band of Cherokee once I move- so I can whip out my card if needed. Does that REALLY make me more credible? I dunno-but I am going to do it anyway- just because I am tired of mean folks running their mouths.. they are called trolls right?? Anonymous trolls who hiding behind their keyboards can write anything about anyone want anytime.. and so they do!

From this interaction formed a type of Shamanism called Appalachian Folk Medicine -Practitioners of this are Called Appalachian Folk Medicine Women mostly-or I am sure there are a few-Appalachian Folk Medicine Men.
I am gonna speak about some things about being a Medicine Person-there is much MORE than the tad I am gonna speak on.. and I know this-it actually would take many articles to cover it all...
I follow the olde ways... I am not a new age shaman that caught a bad cold and thus says they had the NDE" Near Death Experience"-no -to me and to many more olde ways practitioners -it MUST be true death!
Let me tell you why.
A Medicine Person/Shaman has a few criteria needed- you MUST have the Near Death Experience to go through the Veil of Death and receive "gifts of Spirit"
Without those gifts -shaman is just a word...A true Medicine Person-has to go into the world of spirit to get answers-at times to fight off bad spirits- to seek aid for powerful spirits.. the NDE is an access point to receiving gifts- you can't be a powerful practitioner without WALKING THROUGH THE VEIL OF DEATH AND RETURNING WITH GIFTS AND AN ASSIGNMENT TO SERVE YOUR COMMUNITY ...
You must recieve direct gifts-like songs,ceremony and ability.
You will either be taught by a person or persons but it can be DIRECT spirit teaching!
We know everything has consciousness and we can speak to this -to affect change and healing or to simply learn!
You must walk between the world of the mundane and the world of spirit at ALL times!
As ones power grows-they BECOME the Vortex-They BECOME living ,breathing ,walking SACRED SPACE.. all the time!
Much of our power is knowing we are powerful.
We are given special names in ceremony- some of these are never spoken outloud or shared-others are public spirit names-I have both SandraBear and Spirit Weaver -and in the Celtic Tradition I am called Madonna of the Doves. Doves in old days were Oracles.
A shaman /medicine person-does NOT need spells, tools or particular incantations...we have gifts of spirit.
We DO most of the time use tools but that is for the sake of the ones that come to us-AND- we resonate with certain tools knowing they have a consciousness and a spirit!
Over time we are "called out" by certain plant medicines to work with- I work with mainly mugwort- she is a Moon Plant and helpful especially to women.I work with many herbs and teas-but Mugwort Medicine-or the magickal energy of mugwort is my particular plant medicine.
We are also
'called out" by certain animal spirits -I will talk much more about that at another time...
We ALSO must serve a community- we get called to be this-because there is a need !
I don't do spells but shamanic manifestation -If so- if I did spell work-I could perhaps use the word Cottage Witch, Hedge Witch ,Green Witch, Garden Witch-but do not because we in my family sprung from not only the Celtic Shamanic Path as a line of Druids-but also from the Cherokee Medicine Ways as descendants of the Bear Clan.
My Dads PATERNAL family was Cherokee ..I do have many Witches in my Dads MATERNAL family-his Mom was Irish and they WERE Cottage Witchs- but I was not taught that way till the last few years.. I was taught directly by my Druid MATERNAL Grandfather... My Mothers Father.. got it?? lol.. I know confusing to you-not to me! ..Oh and My Mothers Maternal side- were not consciously anything other than Christian and Farmers..but they planted by Moom phase,know more about plant medicine than anyone I have ever seen and were named-get this CRAFT-yes my maternal Grandmothers maiden name was Craft!! Heehee....
My Grandfather as a Druid of a Line of Wearers of Brown. As Practitioner of the Celtic Mother Earth Dana-they were taught in the Druidic College of Avalon Arising (I will blog on that later as well) .He taught me that Witchs were uneducated and Druids were more orderly taught and deeper taught.Now-please don't get mad-that is what I was taught.. I DIDN'T say -that is what I believe! That is obviously some old back in the day prejudice . I studied Witchcraft for 2 years to get to know the system as well-and found it to be very deep and amazing!
I don't call myself a witch-but many friends I have that are witchs would call me a witch...I still stand with Appalachian Folk Medicine Woman. It has passed down in my family-and it is what rings true for my soul!
I am going to share abit about our ways..
I use the word" Medicine Woman" -as it is more traditional to Indigenous Native American Ways.. we never called ourselves Shamans.I have called myself a Multicultural Rainbow Shaman in the past-but more as a marketing tool or to be understood. I even called myself a Cherokee Shaman for awhile but that was just for a few weeks- I am NOT strictly taught ONLY Cherokee Medicine so that would be disengenous and disespectful to ones who are... Mine IS a Rainbow path of Multicultural Medicine/Appalachian Medicine.
I am registerable Eastern Band Cherokee- my mixed race Grandfather was raised off reservation by a white family before the 1920's and so was NOT registered. I have several 1st cousins that proved our blood line and his family tree and so ARE registered.
We don't call ourselves Shamans ya know- never have.. tradtitionally ...I use the word today "Shaman" here and now-because people seem to resonate with it and understand it more than Medicine Woman... I still call myself Medicine Woman.
I call myself an APPALACHIAN Medicine Woman and not strictly Cherokee because I have another side and that is Celtic/Irish. That Medicine Way is vitally important to my development and I have chosen a blended path. Well I didn't really chose it-it blended in my family for hundreds of years in the rural deep Southern Appalachians.
We are a people who are strong and independent. Fiercely so. May you understand there once was alot of prejudice against ones of mixed heritage-from BOTH sides.. still is actually.
Except that we are really powerful and people need our healing.
We helped and help the sick, some specialize in care of the dying- many tend young mothers who just had babies. My specialty is KEEPING people healthy, pain managememnt and through my gift- have been priviledged to heal cancer, MS, arthritis,depression,anxiety,social disorders, lower tumor sizes by 1/2 in a night,have gangrene heal the Doctors had given up on- oh and lots more.. the CREDIT goes to Creator-AND the bodies amazing ability to SELF heal once energy/spirit blockages are removed!
I do my work partly in group setting-Folk Medicine Healing Circles. I also let ones come by at set hours without appointment to see me.
Right now I am in transition in a move back to the Western North Carolina Mtns near Chimney Rock-Once I get moved I will start seeing folks again.
I am excited to be moving home-because pople there understand going to a Medicine Person.. In Pittsburgh No one seemed to really get me.. in a deep Catholic stronghold-they thought I was a Witch or an Angel- some thought I might be dark and evil.. let me assure you...
