Building Community by Growing Gardens
I am the founder and president of the Three Rivers Tribe Conscious Community. My husband is the VP and head of operations- we work with an amazing team of Lightworkers to build community by growing gardens!
Originally our focus was on the Pittsburgh area , but we are now flowing out of the area while maintaining our work here...
Below is the original vision-at the end I will share the 3 projects we have going as we are growing!!
In Pittsburgh PA we are forming a conscious community of Lightworkers. Many of us are artists, musicians, craftspeople, teachers, gardeners, energy and holistic healers, massage therapists We are ones interested in preserving and honoring Native American Culture and Spirituality . We believe in working with mind, body and spirit and finding a balanced, simple and healthy way of living.
We are peacekeepers, we are forming a New Earth Model Community based on a traditional tribal model.
We consciously work to use less of the resources of Mother Earth by gardening recycling and repurposing ,reducing and reusing , we work to eat and clean with organic/non toxic materials, believe in living simply and frugally.
We believe we are part of the Rainbow Children of Ancient Prophecy. Here to be good Earthkeepers and to serve the next 7 generations!
We are a New Earth Model Community .Based on Oneness ,love and light. We are Ecumenical and honor each persons right to choose how they will experience the Divine Mind as long as we DO NO HARM .
Ours is to raise the vibration of the entire Three Rivers area for miracles of manifestation and healing and to hold a space of love !
We will teach others who magnetize to us as a new Earth Model Community -to remember the old ways of self sufficiency and good Earth tending!
We intend to live in harmony with one another and with the Elements and Spirits of Nature!
We will tend to , support, love and honor each tribe member from the moment they come into this world to the time of their passing into the next realm of consciousness .
We are coming to a remembering of our own divine nature and see it in each sentient life form!
We honor our bodies as a Divine Temple housing our Soul and seek to live holistically healthy lives!
We seek simplicity , frugality, and we honor the next 7 generations in our use of the Earths resources.
We seek to build homes that will enhance our life force, are built for 7 generations and that are aligned to Earth and Universal Energies..
We strive for tribal self sufficiency and to connect deeply as Children of Great Spirit and Mother Earth. We are gardeners, artist , healers ,writers, crafters- drawn to form conscious community and to be part of a New Earth Tribe.
In love and light we serve the GREATER GOOD as a model of the possibilities and potential of all humanity to REMEMBER their own Divine Nature and to become good Earth Keepers in order to serve the next 7 generations!
Our 3 main projects NOW...
1) Gaia's Garden Community CSA and Conscious Community
The Gaia Garden in Penn Hills on Lincoln Road- started as a community garden but ,because of most city dwellers busy schedules-it soon became apparent needed to become a CSA-Community Supported Agriculture/Farm Share business-it will also offer SOME local spaces for urban gardeners to grow their own plot of soil- but for the most part it will be an Urban Farm/CSA .
As my husband and I are moving to WNC and have our hand in too many fires- this NOW will be spearheaded by a lovely young couple who have been spirit led to purchase the land! They may build a home on the space , but their intention is to maintain and expand the original vision of the garden,of building community ! By not only FEEDING people but by having an educational component to the garden-and working on community outreach.
Our home the Enchanted Cottage (once my husband moves FT down to Western NC ) will be rented out to ONLY ones who are interested in working with the CSA and will be open for rent in a co-housing situation . In time we may rent w option to buy -but my husbands Father and Grandfather built the house so he is not emotionally ready to fully let it go yet!
When homes in the surrounding lots open up we intend to purchase these through grants and ones inspired to buy and inhabit (hopefully co-housing) and in time to build Pittsburghs version of an urban Findhorn!!
2) Three Rivers Tribe Conscious Community Urban Farm Outreach Project
My husband has been inspired to start a series of deep inner city urban farms -in the poorest areas where people have the hardest time getting healthy foods. He is doing that by reaching out to churchs in the Inner City areas who are willing to organize these urban farms. He is also working to form a team to reach out to more wealthy churchs and civil organizations to"adopt" an urban farm.They would donate a packet of Heirloom Seed "Victory Gardens" ,donate farm tools and if needed volunteers would come it to TEACH urban farming skills to the local urban gardeners-this is a 1 growing season aid-after that it is the urban gardeners responsibility to harvest their own seeds and to expand their garden.
We intend to do this in a more honoring way-not on overlordship manner-so there will be no plaques and no self honoring "donated by thus and thus" church signs -it is a more anonymous approach- simply apopting a church in the inner city from a list-ordering and sending them a packet of seeds and perhaps farm tool-IF the inner city has no one that knows how to garden-THEN volunteers may come in and do some teaching. We really don't want to do any cash donations with this project as funds have a way of disappearing ya know- we really want to get seeds and tools into the hands of poor urban farmers!!
Have you ever heard of the saying-Give a man a fish you feed him for a day-teach him to fish and you feed him for a lifetime?? Thus through the work of the Three Rivers Tribe Conscious Community Urban Farm Outreach Project-we offer a fish/garden for a season-and teach them to fish/garden for a lifetime....
We are launching that program by planting a Fall crop of Greens to be given away this Fall-just given away to whomever is willing to come pick a bag of healthy biodynamically grown greens!
3) The WNC Homestead and Retreat Center Project
I am moving down to Western NC to start forming our rural biodynamic CSA. Outside Chimney Rock NC- Our intention is to start w a 5 acre tract.To build 2 off grid homes- 1 will be a completley non electrified 1 room cabin where I will do my work as a healer, will be teaching off grid lifeskills and teaching about natural ,energy and herbal healing to the next generation of Appalachian Folk Medicine Practitioners!
The 2nd home will be our residence but also a model home for his modest sized,natural materials only used ,off grid,holistically healthy homes and edible permaculture,landscapes-homes that feed the mind,body and soul!
We will have an approx 30 to 50 person CSA, we will have a gathering space and outdoor teaching area . We intend to have 2 or 3 tiny off grid cottages for volunteer workers to stay in for the growing season.
We will have an old time mtn living/living history component to show people the life skills that have been mostly lost the last 2 generations . We feel these will be increasingly needed again as we reach the "peak oil" and economic crisis and this unsustainable polluting system fails.
We also intend to have a silent retreat center for ones wishing to experience Ecumenical Spiritualism /direct spirit communication through sacred ceremony, healing ceremony,working the land in a hands on,barefoot,consciousness raising manner.
Ecumenical Spiritualism is a system given me during my near death experience. It does not work with dogma or religious rules-is open to ones of all faiths-it simply intends to open ones up to the possiblity of other dimensions and direct Spirit experiences!
Receiving our Non Profit as a religious organization will allow us to advance food freedom ever increasingly as we will promote the production and use of raw goats and heritage cattle milk for health and wellbeing!
