Druidic College of Avalon Arising : What you need to bring to attend
To qualify to attend the Druidic College of Avalon Arising one must send a request to join the Meetup www.meetup.com/avalonarising
Ones joining the meetup may or may not want to attend the Mystery School for the 9 month on-site Druidic College- if you simply want to attend the ceremony and open classes that is fine as well!

As we are truly seeking good energy match, those of serious mind and the highest of intent-I will read these,scan the energy and then either allow or reject the request to join.
IF you seek to join the Mystery School Fulltime- One must attend a minimum of 3 public events through the Meetup and then may request admission in the upcoming season of Mystery School Classes starting just before the Spring Equinox 2013 .
The school will be intitiated and dedicated in ceremony at Samhain 2012.
YOU MAY BRING A CELL PHONE OR LAPTOP - BUT MAY NOT USE ONSITE EXCEPT IN CASE OF EMERGENCY- THESE CAN OF COURSE BE USED OFF PROPERTY AS WE ARE PROVIDING A ELECTOMAGNETIC FREE ZONE AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE!
To be admitted to the Druidic Colege of Avalon Arising one will be given an admission interview, have an astrological reading and Akashic Records Reading. The admission process will have a charge based upon the practitioners fee for this- TBD.
We will look at your health, your ability to interact respectfully with other people, have an intensive discussion based upon your skill sets, we will run a criminal background check so as to make sure no sex offenders or violent offenders are admitted.
To attend the Druidic College of Avalon Arising -ones chosen after the interview would have to be prepared to prepay the $2500.00 base fee. This is NON REFUNDABLE and is for you 9 month stay onsite.
We are working very hard to keep this charge low and reasonable!
You will need to provide a release as far as any injuries while attending the college- there are dangers you know-you will be working with fiire, swimming, building things,chopping wood, druidic staff fighting and perhaps bow hunting and such!
You must have a major medical or accident coverage insurance! We will discuss this more later...
In order to attend the upcoming mystery school classes at the Druidic College of Avalon Arising we are sending out this list of items you will need to bring to attend the School. Community kitchen and homesteading needs are part of the tuition- gathering the items is part of your training as well-to learn to be PART of something and contribute to the greater good!
This will be added to and amended over time as needs change .
Imagine we are setting up a fully functioning village for the seasons you are here... part of our school is to teach ones the OLDE ways of Village life and living OFF GRID!
Group needs- group / Village needs always come 1st in this system- a druidic practioner is a servant for their community!
Weekdays we will have breakfast as a group,you will be packing a lunch from the lunch items our Kitchen Magicians will set out at Breakfast tinme- we will spend much of the day in the forrest-rain or shine .. and occasionally we will have group evening meals together- most always with a pot of energy infused vegetable soup going , homemade bread and desserts , herb tea available!
For the group kitchen you would bring and leave at the group kitchen- please make sure you are checked in and signed off for these supplies
25 lbs organic rice(brown,white or wild)
25 lbs dried organic beans (may be a mix of several types minimum of 5 lbs each type)
1 lbs yeast
25 lbs organic whole wheat flour
10 lbs steel cut organic oatmeal
5 lbs organic brown sugar
2 lbs REAL salt-mined from the Earth
2 gallons organic olive oil
2 gallons wine or meade
Your choice- 10 additional pounds of food donations -such as dried fruits, chocolate, organic cheeses and dried meats
These items provide a base- We will be growing an extensive garden ,have chickens and milking goats and doing wild harvesting ,hunting and fishing of many foods....
You will be asked to provide 1 load of firewood for the group kitchen and evening fires - this is approx $60.00
You will be asked to provide 10 bales of hay - for the animals and for the garden. Approx 50.00 for this....
Part of your morning chores will be working in the garden and connecting to the plants -you will be tending to the homestead farm animals as well!
Each of the 12 students will have an off grid camp site-this is a bare site w no amenities .
If you don't bring it you will do without- part of this training is resilience- being self sufficient and self reliant!
You will be building you a natural hut and building items for your homesite from the forrest but this will take several weeks and you need somewhere to sleep during that time- in order to aid you I suggest items you bring in be made as much as possible of leather and wood and iron. Try to stay away from synthetics as much as possible!

Camp shovel
Firewood - a minimum of 4 bundles to start- and firestarting equipment- I suggest several kinds as found in army navy stores!
You will need a tent - a 1 person tent- even if married you will have a seperate space - for you to meditate and be silent-no worries you can sleep wherever you like- as long as everyone is in agreement NO co-ersion !
camp toilet - no chemical
solar shower
everything you need to camp-from a camp cot ,sleeping bag, to a cook set,camp stove,flashlights, camp lantern
food for your camp- we will be taking weekly trips into town as well and you may get more supplies as needed at your expense. Please focus on healthy organics!
Bring a dozen packs of heirloom seeds for your camp garden and well as to share in the group garden!
Supplies to clean your dishes-and of course then you need those dishes- I suggest as we are embracing simplicity a military mess kit is perfect!
Hygiene items that are chemical free-no flouride toothpaste, I suggest Dr Bonners Castille soaps for washing hair and body-even clothes and dishes! Deodorant would be natural as well- non scented please!
We DO NOT cut our hair or shave while in school- so no need for razors and such! If you choose this path you will eventually have long dread lock like braids...cutting hair cutes power-and energy... hair holds cellular memory!

any other musical instrument you would like to bring is fine-remembering we are OFF GRID!
STURDY Oak staff- 1 foot taller than you- do not worry about ornate at this point-go for sturdy - able to bear your weight as you will be vaulting over streams and practicing traditional Druidic Staff Fighting
Leather belt
On that belt you will need a knife in a leather sheath, hatchet in a leather sheath
small pouch on the belt to carry 1st aid supplies ,sewing supplies and to pick up any items on your walks
leather pouch carrying case-man purse-lol- long straps to sling over your shoulder as you will be carrying your lunch out into the forrest w you every day.-no back packs.
Carry in the woods items needed to cleansing if you need to go to the restroom- a short sturdy stick to dig your hole, a napkin pack and antibacterial wash is fine.
a variety of bandanas to wrap up food ,to wet for cooling off ,etc.
a canteen
wine flask if you wish!
leather bottomed sandals, walking shoes or mocassins -mostly you will be barefooted- but when you wear shoes only leather bottomed please!
Please bring only all natural sturdy workable clothing- we will be making our novice apparel the 1st few weeks you are here but you can start with simply cotton khaki slacks or shorts and a white cotton shirt.
STURDY - Long warm cloak- men wear dark brown-women wear a lovely sky blue- we will be making ceremonial robes- these you want for cold mornings and evening around the fire!
Bring gloves and hats as well- we start the season in cool weather- and end the season in the frosty times...
In the afternoons you will be spending time making crafts and honing your arts...
Bring your own Items for your special arts or crafts..
If you are a hunter gatherer-you need a cross bow ,fishing gear, skinning knives and such...
If you are a painter-bring your supplies
If you want to make candles and soaps-bring your supplies-everything you need from pots to bees wax-everything..
If you want to carve wood and make ceremonial tools- bring those supplies
If you are a healer bring those supplies
Do you make herbal preparations,tinctures, salves and such-bring your supplies!
Bring your divination tools of choice - we will be putting together other sort of things based on natural objects but bring your own as well...
Potters-bring your supplies..you will likely build a kiln that 1st year .
Blacksmithing-likewise bring what you need-
Stonecrafters the same...
Leathercrafters...the same
Knitting and sewing -the same ....
If you are a bard-bring what you need to write your songs and your poems and stories..
If you will be making any sort of arts and crafts at all- you will have afternoons to hone skills-so bring everything you need!
Items made can either be traded in the school - bartered- or can be sold in the school shoppe ( I host many public gatherings and folks love to shoppe!) Items sold at the shoppe - 70% is divided EQUALLY between students and 30% goes back to the school .
